A downhill race where people chase a wheel of cheese. It’s extremely chaotic, fast, and famous for its wipeouts and high injury rate. The current champion is Tom Kopke from germany.
A cheese wheel rolls downhill first(180m steep hill), then runners follow. Winners are based on finishing order.
Most strongly linked with Cooper’s Hill in Gloucestershire, England, often described as a long-running local tradition which is believed to be around 600 years old.
Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling (UK) is the best-known. Smaller local versions exist.
